ANUG is first described by Plaut in 1894 and Vincent in 1896₍2₎.For centuries, military historians have documented a condition of painful, bleeding gingival proposed tissues with accompanying necrosis and fetor oris₍1,10₎.In 2002,Holmstrup and Westergaurd another that include three classification distinct illness under Necrotizing Periodontal disease: Necrotizing gingivitis, Necrotizing Periodontitis, Necrotizing Stomatitis₍10₎.

    • “Fluconazole Mouth Paint for Oral Thrush”
      Abstract:
Introduction: Oral mucoadhesive mouth paint preparation was designed and prepared for the treatment of oral candidiasis, where prolonged drug release at the infected area is essential. Fluconazole, a recent triazole derivative having antifungal activity is chosen as the desired drug in this study to formulate mucoadhesive mouth paint. oral candidiasis is a common infection in debilated patients, AIDS patients and in persons who administer immunosuppressive drugs. Mouth paints containing 1% fluconazole with hydrophilic polymer NaCMC was prepared and compared with mouth paint prepared without the addition of hydrophilic polymer. The prepared mouth paint formulation was subjected to various evaluation parameters like pH determination, drug content, rheological behaviour, mucoadhesive studies, spreadability and IR spectral analysis. In vitro drug release studies were carried out at salivary pH 6.4 using cellophane membrane as barrier. Stability studies were carried out at different temperature conditions like ambient temp (R. T.), 8 ± 1oC, 45 ± 2oC at 75% ± 5% R. H. (accelerated temperature) 3 months and analyzed at different time intervals for drug content, physical appearance, pH, mucoadhesive strength and spreadability and the prepared formulation was found to be stable. Antimicrobial studies were carried out to ascertain the antifungal activity of prepared mucoadhesive formulation against the pure drug. The test organism Candida albicans was a clinical isolate obtained from a diseased patient suffering from oral Candidiasis. In vitro antifungal activity was evaluated using standard Agar cup-plate method by zone inhibitions studies. Formulations, containing NaCMC showed good zone inhibition. In vivo oral mucosal skin irritancy tests were carried out using mucoadhesive formulation on lab experimental animals (Rabbits and Guinea-pigs) and on healthy human volunteers. No edema, erythema, inflammation or redness in the mucosal cavity of both animals and human volunteers were observed.

    • A Case Study of Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) Healing Modalities Used Successfully In Thetreatment of A Female Patient of Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) With History of Sinus Tachycardia(ST)
      Abstract:
Introduction: Sinus tachycardia (ST) denotes a condition of heart beats of over 100 per minute, for which the usual causes are: strenuous exercise, a fever, fear, stress, anxiety, certain medications, anaemia, an overactive thyroid or damage from a heart attack. Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) has symptomssimilar to those of a stroke, but lasts only a few minutes and doesn't cause permanent damage. The usual causes of TIA are smoking, high blood pressure, obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes and excessive alcohol consumption. This paper presents a case of a female with TIA and past history of ST, treated by Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) healing techniques.
Method:This is a case study method analysing the diagnosis and treatment of a female patient, and the improvements noted from the application of YPV healing and results obtained from medical records and patient feedback.
Results: Within 2days of YPV healing, her palpitation and BP returned to normal. Healings continued and day by day the patient was able to recover from her symptoms, and within a span of 20 days of healings, she got completely recovered from symptoms.
Conclusion: Yoga Prana Vidya system of healing and practice protocols cured the patient holistically to normalise from Sinus Tachycardia and Transient Ischemic attack together with other vital parameters. Further research may be conducted on appropriate sample to study the results on wider population.

    • Knowledge and Perceptions about Helmet Law among the Two Wheeler Sellers in Gadag District of Karnataka, India
      Abstract:
Background: India is undergoing major economic and demographic transition coupled with increasing urbanization and motorization. Among the top 10 causes of mortality in the country, road traffic collision (RTA) was the tenth cause two decades back, but with the increasing urban expanse and lifestyle changes, it is projected that RTAs will occupy the fourth position in the list of major killers and third position among causes of disease burden in 2020.
Objectives: To assess knowledge and perceptions about helmet law among two wheeler sellers.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out in the headquarters area of Gadag town. A convenient sampling technique was used to collect data, and the sample size was sixty. Following oral consent, a questionnaire was administered to employees of a two-wheeler selling agency. To assess knowledge a pre-tested semi-structured questionnaire was administered to employees, and a three-point Likert scale was used to measure perceptions about the helmet law.
Results: A questionnaire was distributed to sixty employees in the current study. Almost all employees were aware of the mandatory helmet law. However, more than half of the employees stated that they did not receive any helmet law orientation, despite the fact that they were aware of the law. According to our findings, both show room employees are well-versed in helmet legislation. More than one-third of participants disagreed that helmets are not required for short-distance, less powerful engine, and slower speed driving, implying that helmets are required for all types of rides, regardless of engine power, speed, or distance.
Conclusion: Our study found that almost all two-wheeler selling agency employees were knowledgeable about helmet legislation and opined that wearing a helmet would only prevent head injuries if riders wore ISI Standards helmets.
